BIGEYE TUNA

Description

It is known for its large eyes, its body, is dark metallic blue on the back and white on the underside, with yellow pectoral fins.

It is found in tropical and subtropical waters of the Atlantic, Pacific and India, but is absent in the Mediterranean.

It lives in shallow and shallow waters of the open sea up to 250 m deep.

It feeds on fish, crustaceans and cephalopods.

Its weight can reach up to 180 kg and it can reach 250 cm in length.

It is caught with longline gear.
