CODFISH

Description

It is a fish with a robust and elongated body. Its color varies considerably, from reddish or greenish to pale gray.

It lives in open waters at depths of 50 to 150 m.

Males can reach 50 cm in total length.

Its reproduction goes from the beginning of spring to the end of August.

It feeds on benthic invertebrates, small fish and eggs.

It is caught with different fishing gear: Trawling, tremall, longline and encirclement.
