TURBOT

Description

It is a flat-bodied, diamond-shaped fish. It has no scales. Its mouth is large and its eyes are on the left side of its body.

Its color is usually sour brown.

It lives on the sandy seabed, near the coast.

Its size is about 60 cm, but it can reach up to a meter.

It feeds on fish, molluscs and crustaceans.

It reproduces between the months of April and August.

It is caught in different fishing gears: longline and trawling.
